Sydney- I love admiral butterflies. One hung out on my shoulder and wouldn’t let go once. Totally made my day. Hope you’re well this week? Cheers, -Thalia
I just went to the butterflies exhibit at the Chicago Arboretum last week. Awesome. It's totally enclosed and controlled by the USDA, so no exotic species will escape.
Some of the color patterns: you wonder what is the adaptive value in their native environment? Especially, since their predators and prey see in UV and/or infrared, so we don't know what they actually perceive.
That sounds amazing, Albert! It's so wonderful to be able to get up-close-and-personal with butterflies :)
Good point. I feel like asking that question will always lead us to ever-more-valuable insights, understanding the ways in which nature's creatures are so intricately adapted to their particular places in the world. But sometimes I am just content to think that they are lovely because they are lovely 🤣

That is so cool, Thalia! Honestly, it feels so incredibly special to be chosen by a butterfly, doesn't it? They're magical 💕
They really are! 🥰
