Beautiful words and images, as always, Sydney - another stunning post! Ahhhh, the magic of surface tension! 🙂
I love alchemilla (lady's mantle), whose water-resistant leaves are immensely good at collecting droplets. Folklore has it that alchemists would collect those droplets for their attempts to turn base metal into gold.
Fascinating...I'd like to grow lady's mantle in our old apple orchard, and now I'll be on the lookout for those droplets (and, of course, now I'm beginning to scheme a new retirement plan...🤣)
That windshield shot - very unique and my fav colors too. And the droplets on the wire... bet that was difficult to focus on! Lol. I have so many droplet pics, particularly on fallen leaves, but love seeing them elsewhere too. Thanks for another beautiful article.
Thank you! Yes, anything suspended like that is really tough for focus! Everything has to be so still, and then I take a bunch of shots and maybe get lucky 🤣 I really enjoy the magnification aspect of droplets on fallen leaves, it adds such fun detail. Thanks for sharing my droplet-enthusiasm! :)
All these droplets are so lovely! I thought I was already subscribed to you. I’m still learning how to do things around here. I’m subscribed now! I look forward to more of your lovely photos and words.
I love this poetic reflection about droplets. I’ve always been fascinated by droplets. One of my favorite works of art in my office is a photograph of droplets on a leaf, a gift from my sister who is an amateur photographer.
Thank you - me too! What a great gift, such a perfect choice for the office! Droplets always add a new element to whatever you pair them with - it makes for perfect artwork because instead of being a specific subject per se, your mind experiences it as more like a little portal to all these different pathways of memory and imagination, a jumping off point for wanderings and musings, so you can continue to experience that same image in new ways all the time :) Not bad for just a drop of water 🤣
Really nice photos Sydney and I especially like the image of the droplets along that wire. We're getting some rain later this week and this gives me something to observe and enjoy. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Yes, something so simple sometimes - just a little wire trellis that happened to have the right light behind. That's one of the great fun things about droplets, they can transform anything so you get a lot of surprises! Thanks for visiting :)
The day before yesterday I photographed droplets on palm leaves. So exquisite. Huge leaves, tiny droplets, amazing patterns. I’m planning on trying to capture their beauty in art. We’ll see how I go. Thanks so much for another wonderful post. Nature is extraordinary.
Sounds beautiful, I'm imagining it now! Palms are wonderful and, of course, not something I see up here in the north. We have this one wildflower called Lupine that has palm-shaped leaves that I always consider a "nod" to more tropical climates 🤣 Keep me posted on your artwork, I'd love to see what you explore!

I LOVE the sound of your retirement plan, Sydney! The world needs to have another bash at alchemy - I reckon you're on to something! 💛
When it works, I'll be sure to remember the people who encouraged me along the way 🤣
🤣🤑
Sydney, Your photos and your insight are equally amazing. D
Thank you so much, Dave!
Lovely photos. I just bought a camera and have been mostly going for birds. I need to zoom in and look more closely.
Birds are wonderful! But definitely, once you start looking for little things, you'll never run out of something to zoom into and be amazed by :)

:) Yeah, those thin wires or branches... love them on branches but so hard to capture the magic. Fallen leaves are more cooperative. lol

Thank you! Oh how funny, that's happened to me, too...So, welcome, so glad to have you along!
Beauty!

“Just a drop of water” indeed. 😊
The little details that reveal how the world works. Thank you.
So true! The closer we look, the more wonder there is to find :)
We are as droplets on a spider's web.
I like your photos.
Oh, true! Thank you :)
See my post Indra's web.

Beautiful photos, a wonderful post! Wonderfully captured water droplets!
Thank you so much, Pamela, and thanks for the restack!
My pleasure! I hope you have some sunshine up there this week as we do down here! Such a gift!
Thank you, yes we do have some today! I was just soaking a bit up actually, standing in the front yard with my eyes closed and the sun on my face :)
I do that too. In fact I need to go on out in the back yard, and soak some sun up! Enjoy!
