Happy Thanksgiving Sydney and family! The wild turkeys are so much fun to watch. We have a lot of them in my area, thought I rarely ever see any in my yard. One place I was living years back there was quite a large gang of them that constantly got into my bird feeders.
Thanks so much, Thomas! They are so fun to watch. It cracks me up when they roost in the wild apples, because they look waaaaay too big for those scraggly branches, but very casual like they're sure nobody's noticing 🤣
Ahh! I love this so much. Great story and pics. We don't have wild turkeys (though there were some released domestic ones that eventually got rounded up) or chipmunks! I did see a couple of turkeys (domestic I think) at our local wildlife recovery centre and was just in awe of the shimmer on the feather - so many colours! And your wild turkey lady is a unicorn!! How cool is that. (I'm sharing a fiction story in January about a unicorn). Edit: looking at my turkey pics, they're unicorns too. I'd forgotten. lol
Thank you so much, Lindsay, and thanks for sharing your lovely turkey as well!! I'll be looking forward to your unicorn story 💕 Are turkeys unicorns because of that cute little front horn, or something else?
Thanks so much, Julie! Somehow, Hawaiian wild turkeys feel even more extra-special than anywhere else I can imagine them! 🤣 Do they go to the beach? Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! 💕
What a lovely and vivid story. Thank you for sharing. I am going to read it to my grandchildren who will love it as well.
Thanks so much, Kim, yay!
So sweet, thanks, Sydney. I love examples of animals vastly different ‘sharing’ or at least tolerating each other so well.
Thanks, Tara! I agree, it's so special seeing very different creatures getting along. Life lessons (for those of us willing to learn them 🤣)
So true!
Happy Thanksgiving Sydney! Thanks for your wonderful writing and photography.
Thanks so much, Ian, and I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving, too!
What a precious bird. I love her!!!!
Thanks so much, Kimberly! She was very special, I often wonder if she's part of the local flock now :)

Beautiful photos! We get a few wild ones around here. They are always a delight.

You're welcome :) and yes, that cute little front horn!!
Sydney, I never thought of turkeys as beautiful but you’ve changed my mind 😆
I'm so glad to hear that, Grace! They really are stunning - although you have to take more than a moment to realize it 🤣
Beautiful perception and sweet encounter! It reminds me of all the wild turkeys that roam the big island of Hawaii 🍂💕Happy Thanksgiving😊

Happy sigh. So beautiful. Thanks, as always. 🤗🤗❤️💕
