Mornings are sacred in my world. Thank you for this beautiful sharing. Me, at 4:00 AM with a fresh cup of coffee and my dog at my feet, slowly waking up to the hope each new day offers.
It's true, they don't let you share a photo in comments here...But if you like, you can choose "Restack with Note" and I think it will let you attach a photo there, and you can tag anyone you want to see it :)
'...in any given moment, in any dark valley ... we will never have to look very far... to find a spark of joy ... a tiny anchor in a vast sunrise horizon.'
Gorgeous photos and equally beautiful writing. Thank you, Sydney. I’ll be back to visit your store. But first I need to sit and experience this wonderful day.
Beautiful essay Sydney and really enjoyed the range of Sunrise photos. I like the point you make: "Sunrises make it easy to see beauty in the ordinary, to appreciate the (literally) everyday." This is what I appreciate about Sunrises - that beauty in the ordinary. Well-said!
Hi Sydney! So glad Don introduced me to your writing - subscribed... and I'd love to share this piece during my Kissing the Earth series in June if that's okay with you - if you'd like a comped paid subscription so you can receive the daily emails just let me know, satya@satyarobyn.com (info here - https://satyarobyn.substack.com/p/invitation-to-kiss-the-earth). Good to meet you! 🙏🏻
Hi Satya! It's so lovely to connect. I would be absolutely honored for you to share Just Another Sunrise during the Kiss the Earth series! That's so gracious of you to offer a comped subscription during the challenge, I would enjoy that very much :) Looking forward 💕
So true, very peaceful! I think it’s interesting that if you’re just looking at an image with no context you usually couldn’t even tell the difference- but they can feel quite different when you experience them :)
Remarkable. Wonderful. Photography and writing in perfect proportions. I often say “gobsmacked” to reference the fabulous parts of life. That word utterly falls short. But I can thank you for your generous gift today, Sydney.
Just when I thought I'd write to say, "That one is my favorite," along came another sunset to upstage the previous! What a delight! Your photography is tops!
Thank you! What a wonderful quote, I hadn't heard that one before, and it's spot-on. I'm so glad you enjoyed the sunrises, and the wisdom they have for us! Thanks for stopping by :) 💕
I really enjoyed listening to this post, one that I think can be queued up every morning as a reminder of enjoying these moments. I am NOT a morning person but when I do get to catch a morning sun rise every so often, it's just uplifting.
Thanks so much, Raj! I've just started adding Voiceovers and I wasn't sure if they would stand alone well without the images, so this is very encouraging :) Here's to not being morning people, but still being uplifted by sunrises!
Sydney - Outstanding! I loved this sentence - Life is a full-spectrum event. Live it all, my friend D
Thank you! Absolutely :)
Beautiful photos. Love the sacredness of a sunrise. You definitely got me with running late to photograph a sunrise 😅
Thank you! 🤣I knew there would be someone out there who would be with me on that one - it couldn't be just me 🤣
All.The.Time 🤦♀️🤣🤣

A perfect way to start every day, good for you! :)
You drew me in with "dog at my feet!"
I have a pic, but don't see a way to share 😢

I'm new to Substack so I'm trying to navigate the new landscape 😉
Of course! Some things are pretty quirky, too, like this little workaround :)
'...in any given moment, in any dark valley ... we will never have to look very far... to find a spark of joy ... a tiny anchor in a vast sunrise horizon.'
Exactly this. Perfectly simple.
💕Thank you, so happy to know you're out there feeling just the same way :) 🌅

Thank you so much! So glad to have connected with you here, and that you enjoyed the sunrises :)
Each person is a sunrise perpetually dawning...
Yes, what a beautiful sentiment

Thank you so much, Neil! Finding beauty in the ordinary is such a good practice - something you do and share so well, too!

Done! ❣️
Thank you 🙏
Sunsets too.. though signalling an end, they are also the promise of a new day to come. Something peaceful about them..
Really enjoyed your beautiful pictures and beautifully written article. ✨

Thank you so much! Your kind words mean so much to me, and I'm so glad to have shared these sunrise moments with you :)

Thank you so much! That's the nature of sunrises, for each new one to become the favorite 🤩
It takes a creative eye to capture the right moment!
So beautiful. Thank you. 🤗🤗
💕
So beautifully written 💟
Thank you! And thanks for joining me at Moments, so glad to be sharing nature connections with you :) 💕
"There's a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they're absolutely free. Don't miss so many of them.” ~Jo Walton
Well, you certainly caught many a splendid sunrise! You captured them so well with your photographs.
I love this sentiment: "we are never far from an opportunity to appreciate the same old thing, brand new in this moment." Yes, yes, yes!!!
