Every year, i always think for desribing fall and winter, whether i should personify them or not. But the more i try not to personify, the more i get inclined to do so. Fall in Iran, comes more like a guest that stops by, but you feel their presence for a longer time.

I love fall only for its colorfulness (and also because of my birthday. Based on the Persian calendar, my birthday's in fall, but based on Gregorian calendar, my birthday's in winter).

How lovely, Negar! I think, really, how can we help but personify the seasons once we’ve truly connected with them personally? Such a lovely picture you paint of a guest whose visit lingers in your heart…💕🍂

Thank you. I'm glad you liked my poetic description. 😊😉

P. S.: As much as i don't see myself as a writer or poet, i truly am like this. However, I AM A PAINTER.

To be a painter is, I think, very much visual poetry, so I'm not surprised to hear that bleeds over into your writing as well! :) 💕

I really enjoyed this photo essay, Sydney. Those seedling photos are inspiring and we can see the potential for something great in their small frames. I've been waiting for Autumn the past few weeks as it is my favourite season for hiking and simply being in Nature.

Thanks, Neil! I agree - we keep having these "unseasonably warm" Maine summers, and the arrival of fall's fringes has brought such an increase in just enjoying the outdoors more deeply :) (It doesn't hurt, of course, that fall migration has so many wonderful birds passing through!)

Such gorgeous writing. Thank you for tuning me into the edges of the seasonal changes, those most fragile feeling the delineations first.

Thanks so much, Kimberly! I think I noticed it this year because I'm a bit fragile in this season myself 🤣

"Fall begins along the edges..." For some reason, these few words really struck me. Seasonal change is not a dividing line or a switch. It comes creeping in, and we can see and feel it coming if we pay attention. I love that!

How lovely, Sarah! That's just what I was feeling. I think maybe the feeling of being able to "see and feel it coming if we pay attention" feels especially relevant right now, with so much change lingering on the horizons of so many global issues...

I’m forcing fall to come a little early in my heart this year. I’m ready for cozy tea and Gilmore girls

Ooooh, fall favorites! I think fall will be okay with it if you're just like, "That's it, it's time, I'm calling it." 😉
