Lovely post. I haven’t seen Crab spiders here, but we get Bold Jumping Spiders, large black arachnids that earn their name. They aren’t afraid of us! Sometimes I move one to a less precarious hunting spot.
It’s true, having a little wild land is a next level treat - we keep discovering new things there, a constant reminder of how all this nature is always happening even when we’re not there to notice it yet.
Our "wild land" is having dandelions and clover in our lawn when at least some of the neighbors have not only massive amount of weedkiller, but one in particular has landscapers who spread mulch, tend the flowers, and drive me insane when they have three men at a time using leaf blowers in the fall.
Dandelions and clover are so wonderful. Do you ever add any wildflowers into the mix to see if they’ll take? It’s such a lost opportunity the way people battle weeds for the sake of a lawn - and such an absolute nuisance when they pay teams of people with gas guzzling machines to curate their garden. I feel like some people have the wrong idea about the purpose of growing things around your home lol.
Love the photos -- I am a huge fan of nature
Such beauty

Thank you :) Oh my gosh, yess, I’ve encountered a few of those jumping spiders myself, and they are quite the surprise 🤣
Thank you Sydney. So so beautiful. Winter here, so great to see these beautiful colours.💜
So true! I’ll have to remember, when we turn to winter here, to think of you guys and say “It’s summer somewhere!”
I bought a baby mock orange bush this spring. Doubtful that it’ll gain blooms until next year. I hope that it smells as amazing as the trees do!
That crab spider is a hoot!
A show off with no spacial awareness of your relative size as a tasty treat as well as attack vibes with a healthy dose of run-away-quick!! 🤭
Love these, thanks. I am desperate for some green space, and while we have a decent-sized yard, we have nothing like this in it.
